Terms
Salary by Metro presents published statistics so you can read a wage in a metropolitan area. Using the site means you accept the limits below.
The wages
Occupation wages are estimates from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics Occupational Employment and Wage Statistics program, May 2025, released May 15, 2026. They are works of the federal government. They describe workers in an occupation and area. They are not an offer of employment, a promise of a raise, or a statement about any one employer.
When BLS did not publish a cell, the page says the figure is not available. Do not treat a blank as zero or as a wage from another geography.
Prices
Cost-adjusted comparisons use Bureau of Economic Analysis regional price parities for 2024, released February 19, 2026. A parity is a price level for an area, not a budget for your household. The wage year and the price year are different, and the comparison says so.
The take-home estimate
The take-home figure is an estimate of 2026 federal income tax, employee Social Security, employee Medicare, Additional Medicare Tax, and state income tax under the assumptions on the calculator and in the method guide. It is not a tax return, not tax advice, and not the amount an employer must withhold. Local taxes, many credits, and pre-tax benefits are outside it. Confirm anything you file with the IRS, your state revenue department, or a tax adviser.
Photographs
Photographs are credited next to the image, with the creator and the license. The license for a photograph is the one named in that caption. The wage data and the photographs are separate.
No warranty
The pages are provided as a reading of public statistics. They may be revised when a source is revised. To the extent the law allows, Salary by Metro is not liable for decisions you make from a percentile, a price comparison, or a tax estimate.
